Richard R. DiPlacido

Richard R. DiPlacido, age 74, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, after six years of gradually slipping away from Alzheimer's Disease. Rich was born in Erie on May 9, 1947, the son of the late Rocco and Julia Trolli DiPlacido. He attended Saint Andrew School, Cathedral Preparatory School '65, Gannon University '69, with a Masters degree from Edinboro University in '73.

Rich was an outstanding English teacher and an award-winning golfer. He molded young minds at Seneca H.S. for over 30 years. He taught summer golf at the YMCA, and golf and cross-country at Seneca, where he took the team to States multiple times.

Dr. Loren J. Prichard

Dr. Loren J. Prichard, age 78, of Harborcreek Township, passed away in the loving company of his family on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born in Venango County, Pa. on September 21, 1943, son of the late Fred and Marie (Francisco) Prichard.

Loren was a 1961 graduate of Oil City High School. He went on for undergraduate studies at Clarion University and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 1965 from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. In that same year Loren began his practice in Erie. In 1971, he moved the Prichard Chiropractic Offices to Harborcreek Township. He was proud to have his son, Dr. Scott, join the practice in 1990. Through his family-oriented practice, Loren was blessed to have 56 years of dedicated service to his patients.

Marsha Rzodkiewicz

Marsha Suzanne Newberry Rzodkiewicz, (Marsha Rocky), age 68, of Harborcreek, PA, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She valiantly battled cancer for 10 months, and was called to her eternal home on Saturday morning, November 20, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Vivian Newberry; her brother, Berton Newberry; and her father and mother-in-law, Stanley and Dorothy Rzodkiewicz.

Marsha was very active in her faith, Parish, and choir for many years. She enjoyed playing golf, and was a graduate of Harbor Creek High School and the Culinary Institute of America.

Barbara Terza Haskins Schlosser, age 77, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born in Altoona, PA, on June 19, 1944, daughter of the late William and Anna Catherine Moloney Terza. She has been an Erie area resident since 1948.

Barbara was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church and loved spending time with her family and travelling, having been to over 20 countries.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, A. Frank Haskins; her second husband, Norman Alan Schlosser; and two sisters, Susan Shaul and Janie Macoretta.

Elizabeth Jane (Betty) Bliss, 98, entered eternal life on Monday August 23, 2021. Betty was born on February 25, 1923 in Erie, daughter of the late Maria Dorothy Heffner and Carl Henry Owens.

She graduated from Wesleyville High School in 1942, where she participated in theatre and dance productions. She was a telegraph operator, a Five-and-Dime store clerk in Oklahoma, and earned money on the side by ironing clothes, where she was noted to sing while she ironed. Our mother gave 110% while raising her 8 children in an old one-room schoolhouse.

Sally was a graduate of Harbor Creek High School Class of 1955. She was upset to have missed their 66th Class Reunion, held on August 21st. She had attended every reunion since graduation and was a member of Club 55, a group of longtime school friends that gathered once a month.
